July 7, 2008 will there be a new ROM? from Sprint?
 

Lets see another weeks gone by and from what i can tell, Sprint may not release the new WM 6.1 rom until 1 or 2 months after the HTC Touch Diamond and Pro launch as they dont want to lose any sales. The thinking is that if they want 6.1 let them purchase a new phone. and then later release the updates for the older phones.

so since usually sprint only releases a rom on a monday do you think they will release a rom on july 7, 2008?

the purpose of this thread is to see how people feel about sprints effort or lack of to release a rom for the touch or for any wm device for that matter. Lets face it I can understand sprint saying sometime this year, but that could be 5 months from now. Atleast they could say a month.... otherwise i think its vaper ware... granted someone leaked a copy but that copy has opera in it so i dont think that was even from sprint or if it was from someone at sprint they included opera into their custom/cooked rom for us. It was nice someone leaked it, but until its final, lets just post the rumors for this week here....

i can still post about the mogul as my friend has one and I set it up for her. She also has the famous white dots. We will wait until after the Treo 800w comes out and then go down to sprint and have them replace the mogel with another mogel. unless i can convince her to ask them for a treo 800w or even wait until the touch pro comes out.... and sees if she can get the new to you upgrade..... price

we dont need a weekly poll by you about the ROM update. No one else seems to care as much as you to start thread after thread after thread about it. Theres no reason to start a new stupid poll thread every week or 2.

WHEN ITS OUT ITS OUT no one can control it. The date for the update has ALWAYS been June-July and there had NEVER been any official release on the date for the ROM so any dates given were guesses so you cant sit here and blame anyone except yourself for bad assumptions and expectations

EXACTLY there was never ever a specific official date to complain that its late.

the first official communication said Q2 2008, which it still is

the second recent one say AROUND mid-July which its not even out of the first WEEK in July.
