I want to play movies

So, I have done some searching about playing movies on the Vogue and what I came up with is Pocket DivXEncoder. I took the AVI and ran the program, reducing it to less than half of the size, but when I click on the file to play the movie I get "WINDOWS MEDIA" cannot play the file.
I am using Dharveys Vista ROM that was just released a couple days ago.

I have flashed numerous ROMS, made my own OEMS, cooked my own ROMS, created cab files, etc...but this is new to me. I figured this would be common sense. Can someone help me out.

you have to try SPB MOBILE DVD its awesome i tried different programs and spb is by far the best i have seen movie quality is great. A normal 4.7 gig movie is cut down to anywhere form 230 to 280 megs with best quality of video selected it covers the whole screen in WMP and also encodes DIVX movies and videos too trie it youll like it:headbang:

Another option: I encode mine for iPod MP4 format (H.264), because it's a common format between our iPods, my PDA, and my phone. Windows Media Player on the Touch will play those, as will TCPMP with the AVC plugin (Google the plugin and you should be able to find it), or CorePlayer. If you use TCPMP or CorePlayer, remember to set the video output to Raw FrameBuffer, because the default value doesn't work properly on the Touch.

Yeah...I found this in another thread but the avi playback was slow and choppy.

I have coreplayer but only get sound on it when playing an avi. I will definitely check this software out. I love spb.

Ok so I used the new TCPMP and set the output to RF. It's working pretty well now. I will try the formatting as iPod MP4 as well and see how that works out. One question though. I couldn't figure out how to change output to Raw FrameBuffer using Coreplayer. What setting is it listed under?

Looks like I have several options to try out and with a little mix and matching I should be watching some good quality video in no time.

Thanks everyone=D>

For the coreplayer the setting for raw framebuffer is found here:
open the program, then
Menu>>Tools>>Preferences>>Hit left Softkey(Select Page)>>Video

You will find the Video Output setting and can change it to raw framebuffer there.. Hope this helps!
