Skype issue... Which Rom does it work with?
 

Trying to run Skype using RLMCS's rom, but it wont start, after a couple of minutes it says Skype Can Not Load. Does anyone have Skype running good with any other roms? Hoping it does on Ghetto's.

did you install from a cab or was it built in? I'm running a custom rom I built with the ppcgeeks kitchen and have a Skype OEM made from the v.2.2.0.18 cab. and it's working fine. You can get the cab from http://smarthacks.com/2007/06/26/wor...-trinity-p3600

I have tried both NSFFAN's ROM and Ghetto's niether of these work with skype. It is definatly not wm 6.1 problem because a freind of mine has it working on his titan. I originally had skype working with the bell stock rom, but I don't want to downgrade as i've been reading the warnings. That and I like the GPS :)

I may have to try to cook my own rom, but without knowing what the exact problem I think it would be moot.

Does anyone think it might have to do with the radio vesion?

oh yeah, I tried all the http://smarthacks.com/2007/06/26/wor...-trinity-p3600 versions none of them worked.

I am using Window 6.1 and have the same Skype problem. However, if I use Nimbuzz it will let me access my Skype and it works through the headset.

It requires the following:

SqlCeMobile 3.5
.NET CF3.5 RTM
netCF35 Exception Messages

If those are not included it will not work. My latest Vista ROM includes all 3.

They do, you just need to search around for them. I don't know where to find the cab files.

These below are in the ROM and I have been using Skype Mobile with no problems? this is the first Ive heard of this not working.. Ill do some tests.. but as far as I can tell it works fine with the Bell Mobility RUU

I'd appreciate if you could look into it. I've tried several different versions of skype, and all install fine, but upon loading it locks up and after a couple of minutes it comes back with an error saying skype could not load. Not sure whats going on.

I downloaded the two cab's but as suspected, skype beta.18 version (that worked before ROM update) still doesn't work.

I didn't un-install skype and re-install, woudl that make any difference? I didn't think so.

Anyone come across 'netCF35 Exception Messages' as a cab file yet?

I also installed those cabs, and no go. I'd like to be able to use skype. However, I have since upgraded to the new Sprint Radio and installed Ghetto's Vista rom, still doesn't work. I think i'm just going to give up.
Does anyone know if skype works on the stock sprint 6.1 rom?
