You could use the Sprint PPST even if you were on Bell or Telus

sorry I forgot to say its the new sprint official rom. I did the ppst that is in the windows folder but all it did was turn off my radio and didn't tell me anything. I softreseted the phone and nothing changed. im tempted to reflash to the almost oem rom and get my gps back.

Only run the ppst from the windows folder if it is not working.
You need to reflash the New Official Sprint Let Customizations run if you are with sprint. The PPST seems to only work during customization. Re-Flash the Sprint rom and it will reflash your radio and all should be fine. Don't touch ppst after the customizations run and the phone reboots. It does the same thing for me....

Hope this helps....

How are you trying to make the gps work?
What apps are you using?
The GPS still needs to be primed unless you are using the NEW Garmin, Live Search or Google Maps.

Give us more details so we can try and help you. I assure you GPS is working..

Also GPS requires a GPS radio. The rom really doesn't matter as much. As long as it's a GPS compatible rom. You may be experiencing other problems..

Re: the new rom broke my gps

Im using Google Maps as my GPS primer, and also as my nav program. Before flashing to the newest sprint rom, Ive never had an issue with GPS. When I got my phone a little over a month ago, I flashed to the leaked tester rom to get GPS, WM 6.1, and Rev. A, but GPS didnt work then. I then unlocked my phone and flashed to dharvey's almost oem 6.1 rom and had gps working great. I flashed to his 3.0 version of the rom and nothing changed for the worse. Two days after the new sprint rom came out, I flashed to it and restored my contacts and text messages. I loaded google maps and the gps didnt work. I then decided to try cooking my own rom and loaded that but i could never get the data to work correctly so i reflashed back to the official rom, and gps still didnt work. So, here I am, without GPS and kinda pissed off. Think there might be any chance Sprint might swap me to a Mogul instead?

I mean no disrespect but this sounds like it may be user error. First of all if you flash to the Newest Sprint Rom and let it customize that should undo anything that may be messed up. DO NOT run the PPST from the Windows Folder after the phone reboots. The one you can download from here has been patched. The new one has never worked for me unless it was during customization. Also I would use the ppckitchen and try either of the 2 new gps kitchen bases. Make sure you are using a GPS rom and not an older one. I don't know how to upload a rom or I would offer you one of mine, I know they work. Also after you reflash and let it customize, pull the battery out for a minute and then hard reset and let it go through a second time.

How long are you waiting before giving up on the GPS locks.
Also I own both the Mogul and the Touch and could never go back to the Mogul because of the memory constraints...

Hope this helps...

Well I gave up on it and flashed back to dharvey's almost oem rom and magically everything is workign again. Maybe it was something i did, maybe it wasnt. I only ram teh ppst on time after a flash, then reflashed the official rom again and didnt run ppst. Im gunna stick with this almost oem rom since it has everything I want.
