Call waiting Tone help!

Hi Everyone,

While I'm on a call, if someone tries to call me, there's a beeping sound that sounds. Is there anyway of changing that sound?

Thanks,

GP

No, the noise you hear is all service provider stuff, and I doubt that the demand would be high enough for them to look at offering custom/multiple tones. It would also make it confusing for someone else using your phone and not having a generally 'universal' tone for a new call.

Yes, Check out my Sound Theme Tutorial in my sig. The actual sound on my 6900 is "callwait.mid" and to turn it on/off you actually need to change a script key in the registry. I'm sure my tutorial with enlighten you on your devices sounds and handling the script key!

Something not in the tutorial is the registry key for the actual sound. It is:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\CallWaiting]
"Script"="pw3p"
"Sound"="callwait.mid"

Have fun!

is there anyway to change the tone without re flashing it into the rom. I have tried changing the sound that is associated with callwait.mid and changing the file associated with "Sound=" though neither has changed the sound. I am running ghettos newest rom V718 and the call waiting sound is terrible.

You can turn it off by changing

"Script"="pw3p"

to

"Script"=""...

You can change the sound too. It has to be a .mid sound,and located in \windows.

I have tried both changing the sound and setting the script to turn it off and I still get that dang beeping in my ear.

Only problem I have is finding a cool midi sound bite to use in place of the current one. Anybody have any suggestions?
