Data Connection Problem - New 3.03 Sprint ROM
 

I was wondering if anyone else was having a problem maintaining a data connection on this new ROM. EVERY other ROM I have ever used, opened the data connection the first time you needed it, and kept it open, until I manually closed it.

Now, with this one, programs like JiveTalk, or RemoteAMP, that don't seem to 'initiate' their own data connections seem to have issues.

Also, every single time I bring my phone out of standby, I get a data connection bubble... it's highly aggrevating, especially since it covers up S2U2...

I don't believe I had this problem on OMJ's 3.03 ROM, but I am curious what is causing this on the "stock" 3.03 ROM, since I have never seen this before... quite a nuissance!


BTW, I am using a Sprint Touch/Vogue, on Sprint's network.

No one else is having this problem? Is there a trick to force the data connection to stay on? (dormant)?

I am having the same problem and it is pissing me off too. Been meaning to search for a solution, but these other threads keep sucking me in. :) I don't recall having this problem when I first got the phone, but I did notice it happening even before I flashed to the new "official" ROM.

EDIT: I have had no problem with BeeJive. I know it has updated a few times recently, so maybe just update to the newest version. It always connects for me. It just brings up that damn "dialing 777" crap every time.

arg... If I load anyone's custom ROM, I don't have this problem, but then I lose flawless GPS...

So far, OMJ's and RSTG's ROM have no data problems... so I tried loading the PPST_204.cab on RSTG's to get GPS to work as well as it does on the "official" ROM, and all it did was kill off my data connection...

The "official" ROM would be flawless if I could solve this data connection issue... I just can't stand it disconnecting ALL the time, and popping up, especially...

On these other ROMS, it only pops up when I first soft-reset the phone...

I saw some threads on how to disable the pop-up for the data connection, but it's not just the bubble that is bothering me--it's the fact that it's not holding the connection forever, like all the custom ROMs do...

I bet there is a setting for connection-length...
