push email, contacts backup, calendar backup for free

i just wanted to let you guys know about a free program that i use to get push email like a blackberry on my phone. it is www.mail2web.com. ytou just have to sign up for mail2weblive and than you can download a cab file that you can just install on your phone and it syncs your whole outlook on your phone. it also backs up your contacts so when you put a new number in it just automaticaly syncs. i use gmail to forward to mail2web and i get my emails almost instant. it is a great app for someone who flashes or hard resets there phone often because you can have your whole contacts and calendar almost immediatly back on your phone without any wires. it will also do tasks if you check that box, as well as it saves the pictures that you have assigned to your contacts so there is no need to have to go back a re-assign them all again.

Re: push email, contacts backup, calendar backup for free

I use a nice little program that is free for my backups.
Can't remember the name off the top of my head (next time I go smoke I will look on my Touch for the name).
It's a small .exe file that you run (no installing of it is needed). It backs up contacts, calendar, messages, and any folders and/or files you want that you can set.

What I would like to find is a program that makes a complete image (kinda like an image for a PC) that you can load that does not require a separate program to use.

For example, your device goes belly up, instead of hard resetting or reflashing, you connect it to the PC via active sync, run the image and it restores the exactly to when the image was created and saved.

Anyway to set my outgoing email to my own SMTP server?

basically i have my gmail forward to my mail2web. I would like to respond using my gmail smtp as opposed to mail2web.

sprint backup restores a full backup registry, all the files, everything. It can even back up your SD card (never tired it myself). But the full phone backup is only about 50mb or so and its an .exe file you can store on your computer drag and drop onto the phone and run and back to where you backed up exactly.

the free mail2web doesnt include that. you have to buy their lowest package to get that feature- i think its $5/month.

Dang, i don't know if i want to dish out $60/yr for just that useful feature! I figure they would want you to use another outgoing server to keep the load off of theirs.

Scratch that, use Seven Beta. Why re-route your email addr? Its much cleaner to use your exsisting address rather than MYNAME@mail2web.com.

:P

Seven will allow you to grab calendar data & contacts as well w/ multiple email accounts.

Is the free mail2web push service now disabled?
