Hello everyone,

I just bought a XV-6900 from Verizon because its amazing and was looking at the all GPS threads. What is the easiest way to get GPS nav? I'm slightly lost where to go for a start because a few of the terms you're all using are unfamiliar to me. I was also curious if there is a way to get rid of the message sent notification to stop popping up after you send each text message?

BTW - Nice web sight.

i followed this guide and everything is working great!!

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=25335

Here's a simple guide too.

1. Unlock with ImCokeMan's v2.31 http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20370

2. Flash phone with this rom ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/OM..._0823_Test.exe for the new radio needed.

3. Now flash to this rom ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/OM...EM.Verizon.exe and everything should be good to go after this.

Make sure after everything is done to go into the phone settings and change the location from 911 only to location on.

and for the disabling of notifications check the registry edit forum

or for step 3 you can download the ppcgeeks kitchen (ppckitchen.org) and cook your own rom. Have fun!!

I had the roaming triangle on my phone after updating it and I found out it was because the update set my Home SID to '1' instead of '1372' like it was supposed to be. If this is the same thing for you, you can fix it by going into your phone's ESPT and changing it there.

As for the road maps/GPS stuff, there are a lot of different programs out there that can provide you with that....some free, some not. I get along fine with Google Maps and Live Search, both of which are free.

If any of this helped out, don't forget to click the "Thanks" button ;)
