Yep, I'm an idiot. I realized that I didn't open IE after resetting my phone, therefore the data connection hadn't yet been initiated. Once I did that, everything worked like a charm!

Yo, I test my phone if sprint can detect tethering but they didn't charge me for about 3 gigs of data tethering. I didn't use any special software or hacks. Just as it is. One more thing, I don't understand the question "what's the easiest way to tether?" There is only 2 way to tether. USB and BT and it's the same. Just the method is different.

hmm. guess its not a rumor :-\ i still dont think i have ever used more than 2 gigs anyways though lol
