Thanks

that gator just won't work. I've tried recutting it and everything. these are portrait dialers. I can make a landscape dialer out of it, but if I put it in the portrait dialer, it looks all squished and stupid. I made this one last week and for some reason it slipped through the cracks when I was posting all of the other requests....sorry guys. Hope you like it, it was hard to find a good portrait sized pic that looked good...

I posted just above (#184) some possible solutions...
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=184

Update: I tried the WhiteDiamond out on a pristine Touch, and it seemed to work fine EXCEPT for the color of the progress screen text issue (it defaults to white, which of course is invisible on those dialers). This issue is addressed in my #184 post, where you use the registry editor to change the color of the text (easy two editor change). I don't believe any of these other dialers deal with this issue (they mostly seem to put up with white text). Some of the dialers imprint the needed text right on the button image, but then that disables the feature of the Touch that modifies the color of the text with the status of the call (e.g. when you are in a call, the End soft button is the same color as the rest, but when the call ends, the color changes to gray).

Anyways, I think all you need to do is change the color of the text with the two easy registry edits listed in post #184.

hmm.... I don't have that problem when I use these dialers....
1) Did you try first loading another of the dialers in this thread ?
2) Perhaps there is something in the original HTC Diamond dialer that didn't come through properly. Here it is, try loading it first before loading one of the "new" Diamonds (please report back)...

And as far as the white text being hard to read... I suppose I may have tweaked the font color on mine to make it black. Here's how to do that, to make any color, with a registry editor (the ffffff is the code that sets the color, I believe it is hex pairs, BBGGRR, blue, green, red):

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin\PROGRESS\PO RTRAIT\VerbButton]
"textColor"=dword:00ffffff
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin\PROGRESS\LA NDSCAPE\VerbButton]
"textColor"=dword:00ffffff

You'll have to do a soft reset after the changes to make them "happen"...

update: Had some trouble setting black (000000) for some reason, but if you set it to 000008, that gets you black. Code 00FFFF gets you yellow, and FF0000 gets you blue. FFFFFF is of course white, and you can mix down each of the RGB channels, like 008080 is a mustard yellow.

Yeah, I tried you instructions, but it still doesn't work for me. I had not loaded any other dialer skins prior to trying the Blue/Cyan skin. I uninstalled it and installed the one u linked "HTC Diamond" and then installed the White this time. Still did the same thing, large white area around the call info box that shows the # dialed and the duration of the call etc.. and above the 6 buttons at the bottom. The HTC Diamond dialer worked fine though, so I'm using that one now, still looks much nicer than the stock. Thanks MB!

Edit: Oh yeah, I tried to change font color as well, but those registery settings were not showing up for me in PHM RegEdit. Under my "VerbButton" folder I see: bmpDisabled, bmpFlags, bmpNormal, bmpPressed, & bmpTransparency only.

Sorry if it wasn't clear, but you have to CREATE those two registry entries, both named textColor. Then you can change the color of the labeling of those buttons to anything you want (non-white, if you want them to show up on the white buttons).
