Touchscreen doesn't work
 

I had a late night last night and woke up this morning clothed with my phone in my pocket. I must have slept on it because now the touchscreen is screwed.

Everything looks just fine, but when I open up the phone dialer and press any number, it endlessly repeats. I tried a soft reset, hard reset, AND complete ROM reflashing...I can't get past the calibration stage ](*,)

Any ideas how to fix this, or is it time to grab the stock/shipped sprint ROM from HERE and bring it in for servicing?

If I do need to downgrade it back to stock, is there anything I should know before I do?

Ok, so I successfully downgraded back to stock to be brought into Sprint today. The screen stuck again at calibration.

I am assuming that the hard reset (red + green button pressed with stylus in the reset hole) works the same way on the stock ROM, so I'm going to tell them that I attempted the hard reset in an attempt to fix it.

Should I be worried? The start up screen shows the radio at 2.13.00 and the D is 1.12.

You should be able to flash it back to OEM without touching the screen.

if you have insurance you should be fine, if not its just luck of the draw they really dont have to do anything for you.

So how did it turn out?

Everything went fine. Had the insurance and got a refurbished Touch. Screen looks good and everyhting seems right. In ##778# I saw that the total life for the phone has been 13 hours and the build date was Nov. 9th 07. I'm preparing it right now for the kitchen.

With insurance was I supposed to get a brand new phone?
