My Touch thinks it has a different number
 

When I ordered my HTC Touch, I planned to have my phone number ported from VZW. There was a big mess, and Sprint ended up having to give me a temporary phone number while VZW released my number.

Now I have the correct phone number, and calling and answering works perfectly. Except for the fact my phone internally still believes its the temp number.

I manually put in the Voicemail number, so that works correctly. But I cannot connect to anything Sprint related through the phone, since it errors on the phone number.

I have called Sprint about this twice, and both times they said its normal and it will fix itself. Even after I protested they just have no idea what I'm actually asking. I really don't want to have to talk to them ever again over the phone, since its always very painfull.

So I'm looking to see if anyone knows how I can manually change the number on the phone. Thanks!

you need to change your number in the EPST menu.

to do this you will need your msl.

Call sprint and get:

1. Your MSL (lock code)
2. Your #
3. Your MSID

From your phone, dial ##MSL# . This should put you into the basic programming mode. Enter your phone number in the first slot, and your MSID into the second slot. Save and your re-programmed.
