On Demand Now Pocket Express
A couple of days ago I got an automatic ugrade for the HTC Touch.
It turned On Demand into Pocket Express. A nice improvement. It even put 3 lines of updating information on the Today screen: Headline News, Weather, and Stock reports plus you can change the setting to suit your needs. I like to show just the news to better manage my screen real estate. Anybody else get the upgrade and like/dislike it? |

See: http://express.handmark.com/ Click on the Premium Susbcriptions tab on the left hand side. More details there. This is a pretty cool app though. You can configure it to only look at what movies theatres you want for example (close to you in your city) and then you can even buy tickets using your phone over the Net. It's damn neat. Not sure it's worth the subscription just yet though, but cool just the same. |
On Demand Now Pocket Express II
1 Attachment(s)
As I mentioned earlier, I got a text message with a link that upgraded ON DEMAND to POCKET EXPRESS.
Well, when I hard reset my Touch ON DEMAND was back, without the upgraded features. Soooooooo, I went to the Handmark site and downloaded POCKET EXPRESS but it doesn't install the same as the original upgrade. Now I had both programs. This time in just installed another program but you still have ON DEMAND on the Cube (see attachment. The first upgrade changed ON DEMAND to POCKET EXPRESS on the Cube). If you get the upgrade direct, its best to make a back up, just in case. I don't have an solution to get the upgrade installed the way it installed the first time. |
Re: On Demand Now Pocket Express
the sprint on demand has some extra free stuff and no advertisements like the express version. they're pretty much the same thing except the branding..

Re: On Demand Now Pocket Express
I installed it last night. Ever since, I have been having internet issues. Losing connections. Email, browsing, sometimes work, then lose connections. Could it be because of the poclet express installation?

Re: On Demand Now Pocket Express II
If you launch the bootstrap (On Demand) on the device, it will download Pocket Express, no upgrade is needed since it downloaded the latest version of Pocket Express.

Re: On Demand Now Pocket Express
Anybody here read the EULA? I believe it asks for your consent to track your use of the phone. Web e-mail etc. I refused to install it and deleted all reference to it on my device.

Re: On Demand Now Pocket Express
I ran the OnDemand cab that was in my windows directory(OMJ Sprintv2Rom) and it automatically upgraded to Pocket Express version 4.25.81. Havn't used it that much but if you go to Extras/Games/Free Astraware you can download Astraware Casino for free(normally $19.99) For some reason this is only available on certain versions of Pocket Express right now.
