Cooking a ROM w/o GPSID?

So, Baffles helped me out saying that if I wanna keep GPS always on, I'm gonna need to cook a rom without GPSID, but I don't know where to start. Can anyone help me out with this? (either verify this could work, point me in a direction to start figuring out how to do this, or help w/ it?)

I'll help out as well. I'm working on building my own ROMs so if you'd like, we can team up.

I need all the help i can get:) but i'm not sure having me on a team is gonna do much-I'm not sure where to start yet.

well. after extracting the rar from the kitchen for 6.1+GPS, i noticed gpsid.dll in the SYS folder and gpsid_qct.dll in the OEMdriver folder...

I believe we need gpsid_qct.dll in order to enable GPS, which leaves us with gpsid.dll ...

Why not just turn location off under phone settings? This disables GPS...

Don't worry as I'm not that good either but after looking through all the installed OEMs with nuePackageDiagnostics (gotta put that in a hacker's ROM), I believe your analysis is correct. What needs to be done now is find out exactly what can be taken out and still keep the GPS working. Great work.
