Crack here. I'm not going to both with getting it replaced. If anything, I'm going to buy a different cover and replace it myself instead.

In that case you should buy the black. I am going to do that when mine cracks next.

I've seen some colored ones out there too. Would love to find a red one...

...or have someone custom make an all aluminum enclosure...

ebay has the gsm variety. But alltel just came out with the red (actually it's burgandy) cdma housing. If you find where to get it, please post. Thanks!

I did a search earlier. Someone on here has figured out how to cram the CDMA phone into the GSM housing, but I don't think I want to deal with that. I'll hold out for the Alltel one. I have a red Dell laptop, so having a red phone would be incredible.

Has anyone with a cooked rom had their phone replace. Any problems in doing so? I know it voids your warranty but this issue is in no way software related.

So I'm convinced that either the plastic they use is a really cheap, or the device is painted. I'm missing a much bigger "chunk" out of the side of the casing now. I'll take pics when I can.

I just noticed this same crack in mine today -- 6 days after I bought my Verizon XV6900. How disappointing. I plan to keep an eye on it to see if it gets worse. It would be a pain to have to install/modify everything all over again.

One crack and see two more starting!

I'm just outside the 30 days and Verizon is giving me problems, want me to use the insurence, any Ideas? I really don't want to pay the deductable on a defect.
