SD card issue
 

I just got a brand new Touch from Sprint. My old one the talk and end buttons quit working. And even reset the phone when pressed. I had a 8gb SD card in it. It worked fine, no issues what so ever.

I get a new phone and now it doesn't see the SD card, WTF. My computer does. The Touch sees a 512mb card, why not my 8 GB one? HTC is not on my list of likeable companies right now. Anyone have a clue what's going on?

Have you tried re-formatting the card?

It's probably a format problem. Copy all your stuff to a folder on your PC and reformat the card using the FAT (not FAT 32) format, or format it on your Touch. Reload your stuff and it should be fine. I had some SD issues when I first got my 2gb card and it was due to formatting FAT 32.

I reformatted in fat32 i think. I'll try in plain fat. The touch does not even recognize it period. What is weird is it worked on the previous phone and now not on this one. That is not right.

I presume you've tried re-seating the card, and resetting the phone?

Sounds like you might have a bad luck streak going and the new phone is bad...

Could just be a bad card port too. Might be an excuse for a swap to a new one....

Had a problem with mine a week ago. All of a sudden my program icons were the little squares. Opened the storage card to find that the My Programs folder was empty! Tried running a backup from SPB and it was corrupted and didn't restore properly. I ended up having to hard reset and reinstall everything over again. I did find a solution. on Cnet downloads there is a program called Flash Format. I installed the program and formatted the card in my device, and so far no problems (crossed fingers) but this could be a deal breaker with the Touch if it continues. Anybody have SD issues with custom ROMs?
