Voicemail icon won't go away and the setting to remove it is gone!

I'm on the original Alltel GPS rom that was first released. I have the infamous voicemail icon that won't disappear, but now start-settings-phone-services-voicemail isn't there!

WTF do I do?

call your phoen and leave a message than listen to it delete it and you should be golden

yeah my clear icon feature is missing too....

i had to keep calling my voicemail to get it to disappear
