Do I need to hard reset?

I did try to search for an answer here, but maybe I did not search for the correct question and I got no results. Here is my problem:

I have a Verizon Touch (xv6900) with the stock rom, no mobile launchers or skins like spb. Yesterday I went to my Comm manager (the screen where you can turn on and off bluetooth, airplane mode etc) and I found that the font was changed to some crazy font that I can barely read. I did not change this, and I don't even know how to change the font for any application on this thing. Do I have to resort to a hard reset, or is there a way to change back the font to the original? Any help will be greatly appreciated by this n00b. Thanks.:)

if you do a hard reset it should reload everything to factory defaults... MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP THE CONTACTS FIRST!!!
Question though... Did you change your home screen at all? that MAY be a possible reason why the font has changed..

it is funny that you say that. i put a photo on as my background recently, then i deleted it and went back to the plain htc screen. i also moved the order of some items on the start menu, but i dont see how these things will change a font on the comm manager...

try a soft reset first. I have problems with my phone app font sometimes and a soft reset usually clears it up if it doesnt clear up on its own. I am a firm believer in a hard reset on a regular basis (like once a month) but your issue seems very minor, so far.
