Sprite backup?
 

I currently have spb backup but apparently sprite backup can restore to new roms. Anyone tried that and it worked? If so, I'm thinking of buying it so I can ease flashing to various ROMS

I just looked back through some old threads and several people have confirmed sprite will restore to a new rom.

i tried restoring to an old sprite backup after a rom upgrade and it didn't work and i had to hard reset. probably since my new rom was with wm 6.1 whereas my backup was 6.0. i have heard of people having success but i would caution against doing it if your windows version changed.

Good point about wm version. I'm on 6.1 now but I'll keep that in mind.

I upgraded to the new Rom on my Mougul and the restore went almost flawless. It did not bestore my Voice tag but I had them baced up on my storage card. It also did not restore my rigtone assignments. It restored all ringtones just not who they were assigned to.

I have spb backup.

I did a full backup with OMJs V2 GPS ROM installed and every program i need installed and customized the way i want it. I did this last night.

If i upgrade to OMJs V3 GPS ROM, what will happen when i run a restore? Basically i want my phone to be exactly as it is now, except for OMJs V3 ROM flashed over the V2 ROM.

Will i have to manually re-install all of my programs for this to work, or can i just run a restore?

As far as I know, you can fully restore on the same OS version, as for different versions of a ROM (V2 to V3) its better to reinstall, because for the most part the backup will overwrite all the new and updated files with the old ones.
