Is there a way to put custom ringtones on HTC touch?

I want to make a ringtone from a song because alltel makes crappy ringtones. Also, what's up with the alarm ringtones...They arn't even alarms. they're just sounds. How am i supposed to wake up to a beep? retarded..anyone have any ideas? thanks

htc audio manager has a buil in ringtone maker.

For alarms, just convert any audio file to wav, then toss it in the Windows folder.
