Bluetooth problem after Alltel HTC Touch upgrade

I upgraded my Alltel Touch to the latest ROM (3.04.671.2) throught the HTC site, and am now having a problem with my bluetooth headset (Samsung WEP200).

The headset will pair and function well, but there is a constant repetitive beeping in the headset, even during conversations. I have tried soft resets, re-pairing, powering off the headset, etc. without success.

The headset worked perfectly with my Touch before I upgraded... Has anyone heard of such a problem, or a fix?

Thanks

I did the Alltel upgrade yesterday and had the same issue that you describe. the beeping is the sound that the phone makes when it looses and then regains signal from towers. Mine did this continously when roaming. The icons at the top of the display flash at the same rate as the beeping. No dropped call though it seemed like the phone maintains the connection even though it seems to be dropping.

I am actually roaming full-time, and I don't have the beeping on my phone at other times-- only through the bluetooth headset when it is paired with the phone. (The flashing roaming symbol is new, though, since the upgrade. It used to be solid.)

Are you all still on the Alltel ROM or are you on Sprint ROM? I assume that might make the difference.

I have an Alltel phone, and this occurred after I updated to the new Alltel ROM.

I also did the Alltel ROM upgrade to an Alltel phone. In addition I added the MacFlo cube, AE Buttons plus, Holux GPS Viewer and Harolds Alltel GPS Enabler. Could the GPS software be interfering with the radio, causing it to continuously lock to and release roaming? I am unable to use the Bluetooth headset because of the beeping.

Are you able to make/receive calls? Maybe since you are on the Alltel ROM, Sprint is not recognizing you as being in your local area and therefore puts you in Roaming.

That would not answer the BT issue though but i have a feeling that there is some problems with BT on the Alltel ROM since many of the cooked 6.1 ROMs are based n the Alltel ROM. I am also having BT problems with OMJ's 6.1 ROM but not the beeping. Mine (and others) switch ringer profiles when we make calls and use our BT headset.

Just my thoughts. Good luck.

I am still able to make/receive calls, and I've been roaming the entire time (I'm in San Diego: non-Alltel area). I have the constant beeping in the headset whenever it is paired with the Touch, even when I turn the phone & data connection off.

I've had the same constant beeping with both a Samsung and a Motorola BT headset: It must be a problem with the Bluetooth on the new Alltel Touch ROM.

BTW, Alltel & HTC tech support could not help me whatsoever.

I also wanted to mention that I don'te have any GPS running, so that is not the problem.

I am experiencing the same problem. i do not believe it to be a blue tooth problem because it does not "beep" when the radio is stable. the beep we are hearing is the tone that the phone makes when it loses then regains the signal with the cell tower. When i leave my home area the roam and signal strength icons flash and the beeping starts in the Bluetooth headset.
