Unauthorized device after Titan 3.35 rom upgrade on xv6900

I was performing the upgrade procedure on my xv6900 to get the GPS working and amidst all the ROM flashing I tried to use my phone and I got forwarded to this recording no matter what number I dialed that said my device wasn't authorized. Then it had me call some #88something number and I was connected with the Verizon Wireless fraud something...

When they got me on the phone they just asked me if I had hard reset my phone recently and I said yes, she said some "Security settings" needed to be updated on my phone and she did something remotely and then said I could now use my phone to make calls again.

Does anyone know what the heck that was all about?

I didn't want to mention I was trying to load hacked firmware on my phone to get the GPS working and fortunately she didn't ask - but I am kinda interested in what that was all about.
