Network Not available! from some applications
 

Ended up re-flashing the rom. My rom didn't have an IOTA option in the settings -> phone menu (I think I was on a generic one).

I've found that I usually have to connect to data using Pocket IE and then my other programs will find the data connection.

Yea same here... i dont think core player will initialize a connection

Thats the thing, I'm already connected. The htc home weather thing works too. I'm having the issue with coreplayer and pocketmusic. Any ideas before I try re-flashing and hoping for the best?

I had the same issue. I got a new touch because I was having problems with my screen and I noticed with the new touch I was having connection issues with most of the programs. A prompt that it was dialing #777 for everything would come up and some programs wouldn't connect. I was playing around in the menu's and saw IOTA. I ran that and that solved the problem for me.
