TOMTOM nav 6 -- Question for those who have used it

Can TOMTOM6 fit on the vogue stock SD card?? I guess thats 512mb? I don't know but i've tried installing it and it seems that the maps themselves won't fit. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this?

TomTom North America Map is close to 1 Gig so you do the math iampepito. How can 939 MB's fit on a 512 MB card ? Answer virtually impossible get yourself a 2 or 4 Gig card and install the maps on it.

Thanks douchebag.. a better answer could had been, "no, you need to have a larger SD card." But your way was just as good.

Hey mate,
The canada map is around 100mb so you can have this installed for around 150 to 200 mb tops. so i'd say no problem for tomtom on the 512. Also I-Go myway installs with the canada map for abour 140mb. i've got it on mine at its great (way better then tomtom imop)

Cheers!

I have Tomtom6 on my phone and CA and NV map on the storage. Its about 150 megs. So to your question. yest it does fit. But only if you get your regional maps like I did. If you get the whole country then it wont fit. Its over 900 megs.

Thanks everyone, I was interested in TOMTOM for no reason but I couldn't find the regional maps like posted. I ended up getting Garmin XT and it worked out nicely but im a little upset because I already have a real garmin GPS so I was hoping to try something different... anyone have a preference between GARMIN mobile and other GPS applications?

I've only had experience with Telenav. They offer a 30 day free trial so you've got nothing to lose and IMO you'll end up liking it. Great voice turn by turn and it's very simple to use. You can also call a number and input addresses and such so it's pretty much hands free.

I tried TomTom and the routing was horrendous in my opinion. I think iGuidance is better although I am going to look at others

Hello,

When I run Tom Tom, it complains it can't find the maps. Is there directory structure it is expecting on the flash card?

I tried dumping the maps in the root of the storage card, also tried to place it in a directory named "USA_and_Canada"
