Microsoft isn't due to officially releasae WM6.1 until around Q3 of 2008, so anything that is running WM6.1 is beta software.

Specifically, what in WM6.1 do you require in order to justify the upgrade and associated (potential) headaches?

I just ask, because it is entirely possible to load the stock (Sprint RUU_Signed.nbh) into an empty Kitchen and then add items to suit your preference.

Or just get the WM 6.1 Stock OEM Rom
I just loaded myself, and users have reported no lockups .

a clean stock 6.1 still freezes. I think most people want it just for its threaded sms

The Sms is the only reason I keep 6.1 on my touch. I just cant get used to pocket cm or i would go back to 6.0 I get usually one lockup per day. If I reset every night before bed i get no lockups.

Well its been 24hrs now since loading the OEM Stock WM 6.1 CE OS 5.2 1620 (build 19209) and hasn't locked up yet. 24 more hrs to go . Its just not as fast as the Custom ROms nor tweaked nor does it come with goodies .. But it looks very stable

Yep.. I can't deal with pocket cm ..
If I had to go back to 6.0 I would use Vito SMS_Chat and VIto FunContacts

What are you guys running?

I've been running 6.1 (vogue_wm61.rar which was around 03/12/08) for a almost a month now, with no lockups whatsoever. (pagepool = 0, set using the PagePool_Changer.exe utility)

Running (primarily)
spb mobile shell 2.0
sbsh pocketbreeze
sbsh phoneweaver
spb traveller
s2u2
ftouchsl
opera mobile beta 9.5

I don't understand all the posts complaining about lockups! The closest I've came to lockups is slowness w/ opera (when I have too many pages open), which is resolved by bringing up the task manager (mapped to the camera button), and killing programs (I usually tend to have a good 10-15 programs open at that time..) - but it recovers.

Issues that I do still have - but they're not lockups -
1) storage card corruption.. yes, mine still corrupts from time to time (about once/week).. although popping it out and back in usually fixes it.
2) notification errors from time to time when roaming/in non-coverage areas
3) opera mobile 9.5 beta shows video corruptions ometimes when scrolling. fixed by exiting opera/re-entering
4) activesync partnership's got deleted once - fixed by re-importing my registry for activesync (I had this issue before with older roms, so made a backup of the activesync part of the registry anticipating running into it again)
5) My attachments don't seem to work for emails...
