It would take Verizon releasing a phone running Android natively (or the Palm Pre being awesome) to make me want to do that.

Yeah, i miss my Vogue, but now i have an amazing screen, and wifi, but no android. however tf3d can be completely transparent, where as tf2d cant. so it's a trade off.

Completely agree. I am going to wait until an Android ROM gets cooked and posted.

yeah must be easier to flash than to copy, extract, paste, rewrite...ect.... since i have verizon xv6900 i might be getting this problem, can anyone help me on this problem? When i try to boot my phone to android, the HaRET: Booting Linux blue bar finishes loading, but it freezes the phone and the program..which is odd because the prior androids never frozed my phone, so i went to an older android extracted haret, data, zimage, and added system, intrid, default.txt from android 1.1, and it boots up properly i see a blue metalic android font instead of android and that green robot cartoon on the loading screen, and everything looks alright exept that, since im running an older version, i see a lot of error messages when opening a program, something like -program has unexepectedly stopped running please try later- is there anyway i can fix these error messages or just run android 1.1 with out cutting and pasting? id appreciate any help

I'm curiouse to find out what some of the regular users of Android think of it. Is it ready for daily use? I installed android on my 6900, and after a few bumps it worked pretty well. I'm not going to lie Shopsavey, and games make it very applealing to switch back to my 6900 using andriod. I wish there was a fully functional Android for my TP, but that is way off. What do you think? Should I go to andriod now, or wait for native android phone from sprint?

Table83, I'd say not quite ready yet. Although it works pretty well, certain things are a deal breaker for me. No GPS, being one of the biggies.
Currently, my WM6.5 and Android cohabitate in my Vogue, but I only boot up "the little guy" (as my wife calls it), to play around and for show... don't want his gears to get rusty!

I'm sure it will come soon enough.

In the next couple of days I will be posting two different builds and 3 different skins for Android. Full access to market, as well as the HTC keyboard, and a number of other things. Runs really fast, and very stable.
I'm waiting on a kernel change though before posting, which DZO has said he's going to try and get done. Understandably I'm trying to be quite patient. This is something he's working on in his spare time.
I'm also working on getting the 'hero' build of android ported over as well. I am going to have to be looking at compiling the new kernel and implimenting what changes I can to get it working (which will take time).
But I would say that once my releases come out you'll be able to run it pretty much full time (unless you're a gps or bluetooth user, which I'm not).

I don't come to ppcgeeks much anymore so keep an eye on the thread at xda for updates.

I do like this the only problems I'm having with it call is the way the keys are layed out. That and the SLideme app doesn't want to load anything more than a white screen.

Sweetness.
Thank you.
This will mean that I can make a android rom.
That's probably the only rom I'm going to do. :D
I'm running nfsfan's new v9 rom,
and it's better than the last.
So I think I'm just going to help promote his rom
and help people customize it.
