2. Are you sure your default.txt is set up to point to "intrd-android?" (done so by removing the # and placing in front of the other line "intrd.gz") ? ------------------ Updates working great on my xv6900: + SMS sends/receives great! - Kinda annoying that keyboard covers up the txt fields. + I like how the txt message appears as a screen splash. + Did anyone notice the "Android Globe"? Replaces the "API" in the menu. ~ Even though it's no google earth, it is cool to see some smooth 3D rendering. - Still losing data connection capabilities after about 30 seconds :( So what are the next updates? Will there be file support so we can start loading applications? A screen dimmer would be cool too so that I can run android longer w/o killing my battery :D Keep up the great work! Unsung |
Re: Android For The Vogue Is Here!!!
updated files now working for me on Sprint Touch, interesting but really pre alpha functionality. Will be interesting to see what comes from this..

Re: Android For The Vogue Is Here!!!
it sure is far from being functional in my eyes though

Re: Android For The Vogue Is Here!!!
loaded 6/5 files on my xv6900.
+ Now able to blank my screen to save some power. Yay! + "G" Icon appears and shows the uplink/downlink arrows - Still having data connection issues. Default.txt is properly configured w/ Verizon Wireless username/password info (i think). Data connection still seems limited to about 30 seconds. Too bad, because when I show off android people seem most impressed w/ the browser until it times out lol! Keep up the good work Martin/DZO! btw, Has anyone released any applications yet? Google has shown a number of demo's, and my understanding is they are open source right? -Unsung |
Re: Android For The Vogue Is Here!!!
Does anyone here know how to set the data username and password correctly for a sprint phone? I've been successful using the browser as long as I had an open data connection, but after opening ~1 page, it no longer works.

Re: Android For The Vogue Is Here!!!
this is awesome, but i dont know if setting up a sprint username and password is supposed to get data and phone dialing working...
when i try to call my own number to check voicemail, a prerecorded message comes up saying "the phone or number youve called is not avail." this is awesome though and its running smooth considering this is super pre alpha type stuff |

Re: Android For The Vogue Is Here!!!
can someone please post some pictures of android in action on the vogue?
thanks |
Re: Android For The Vogue Is Here!!!
Look for video in youtube. It is really a let down if you are just wanting to look, but exciting when you get it running. That knightrider themed boot gets me every time.
That being said, I placed a phone call, but did not answer to test phone quality. I never go data to work, but I used minimal effort. |

To attempt to answer some of the above questions, I have read some of Martin (DZO's) comments on xda developers, and it seems that his script enables android to make a data connection when it boots. This connection seems unstable, and it doesn't have the ability to redial if lost. Surprisingly I am not having any problem's making/receiving calls or txt messages on my VZW phone. For those of you who are concerned about the lack of functionality, simply look at the rate of development, and you will realize that it won't be long before thing's are much more usable. I wish I knew something about coding so that I may be of some use w/ this project  |
