About to go back to Mogul, but wondering.. Maybe I just have a bad unit??

I got a touch in replacement for my Mogul about a month ago. Overall, it's been really nice. Touch screen is good, etc.

One problem Ive had thats been killing me is the indoor data connection. It's very poor. In the same areas, the Mogul had rarely if any drop outs while streaming. In fact in the course of a month, maybe longer the Mogul had 2/3 drop outs total while streaming, where the Touch has 10-15 every hour or two.

Could this just be a bad unit? Ive tried everything possible and it never helped. I'd like to keep the Touch because of its size, but I use streaming a lot while at work, and studying etc. And it sucks right now for that.

Think I should just replace the touch with another and see if its the unit? Or is there just a different and weaker antenna in the Touch?

i've been using a touch the past couple weeks after switchin from the mogul and have actually had better and a more stable data experience with the touch, both indoors and out.

Maybe its my area, or my unit. I just don't get it. When I called, retentions told me this has been an issue for many people. Said it also has known issues of not waking up while in sleep mode, and freezing up a lot.

They said I could try a new Mogul, or a replacement Touch, and if within 30 days it still gives me troubles, i can return it for the other.

Also credited me this months bill for free. So I guess it's back to mogul and see how it works.

Heart breaking for me though, the Touch is definatly a much sexier phone.

the touch is a great device. what i have found is that the ones that came out in the first batch have a wake up issue. i got a new one about 2 months ago and it has a build date of jan 2008. i do not have these issues with it at all

How do you find the build date? I got mine on Jan 21st, wondering if its an older model.

EDIT: Found it in the other info. Made 12/3, still same issues plus ones already stated.

I don't find it all that different than the mogul. But I don't stream audio either.

How many bars you getting indoors?

My guess is it's a setup issue. I would google around on streaming in general on PPC phones (not specific to mogul or touch) and see what you find. I suspect there are some registry tweaks you can do to perhaps use larger buffers or something.
