Did you set up the pop3 account in P-Outlook? Active sync should be running of the Touch also. After setting that up, there should be a time setting to check the account ever # minutes.

Yes, I did that and the shortest time I can do is 5 min.

The push email you see in comm manager is only if you have an exchange server. if you have a touch though you can use sprint mobile email which pushes emails

I do have a touch, so only the sprint email will be push?

That sucks

Re: Push Email??

You need an exchange server, not a standard POP3. Never used Sprint email, so I am not sure if it is.

There are free exchange accounts out there, so you can just setup mail-forwarding to one of them.

But when I used PUSH i noticed really bad battery life, but this probably depends on your email load more than anything, and I would typically get 20-30 messages a day...

The SPrint Push worked fine with my hotmail. Though I eventually reverted back to non push as a result of a custom rom and my laziness, nor need for constant updating email.
I think this is the link to a thread here about it, but not certain. I think they call it SPrint Mobile , and it is suppossed ot work only on the touch as indicated in the message from firebrain

I've been using it and loved but for some reason my pop/imap accounts quit working. I've posted on their forum and sent the log files so hopefully that will get fixed soon. Oddly enough, my yahoo account still works.

If you don't mind paying for it, I just signed up for a business account with mail2web (since I have my own domain name), and since it uses Exchange 2007, it will push HTML email to WM6 devices. Its about $20/month I think after taxes.

Windows Live will also push HTML email from a Hotmail/Live account, but it seems to drain the battery really fast compared to Exchange, and sometimes its not reliable.

Turns out the problem was mostly the accounts changing to new servers and the service having mail problems over the last several days delaying messages and such. Seven seems fine.

False, Windows Live, though is "crap" IMHO, is by far thee most power friendly over any option available.
Anything that uses ActiveSync is automatically draining more power than other solutions, including EX-Server.

Unless you were polling by minutes or had a buggy build, Windows Live takes no noticeable toll on the battery.

I had Windows Live set to get messages as they arrive. I used the version that came stock on the Touch and other versions in various 6.1 ROMs. Once I started using Exchange my battery life seems ALOT better than when I used Windows Live.

Re: Push Email??

Windows live push email is VERY unreliable.
Mail2web is instantaneous EVERYTIME.

If you setup a business account you can have it check multiple accounts. They have an aggregate feature where it pulls email from other accounts. I don't use it, I just setup those accounts to forward to my mail2web account.

With a business account you get HTML since its Exchange 2007.
