Korean Language not showing in text message
Hi,
I am new to this forum, and I have problems. I own a Sprint Touch. I have installed a program Diopen, which installs the Korean IME and the font. So far I am able to read the Korean and write it through IE and Contacts, etc. However, when I send a txt message and email that I wrote with Korean, the receivers (including me, I sent to myself both txt and email) only see ??? for email, and ____ for txt message. Is there any way to see foreign language on emails and txt message? At least for the email, I mean, email suppose to support all langaguages, but even the computer with various encodings shows the broken ???? letters..... to add this, I use Windows Live for email and text. I searched through the forum, so far the only solution for text message seems to change the setting to Unicode. However, I dont see the setting that changes the message to Unicode on Windows Live..... Help will be much appreciated Thank You. ps. I posted this same message on xdadev but I didnt get the answer so I am posting here, sorry if its causing problem. |
Re: Korean Language not showing in text message
I don't think Sprint supports Unicode. I tried to send and receive some Chinese sms from my Touch to my lady's Centro. Can't see at all, only some dashes and dots. BTW, we do have some software loaded so that the phones can display chinese correctly.

Re: Korean Language not showing in text message
guys i have the same problem as you ... i have sprint HTC Touch and i can read and write in Arabic but when i send sms the other party (or to myself) all i get is __________ or &&&& ... to solve this problem you will need to change the HTC_SMS_Providers.dll and SMS_Providers.dll in the windows directory... but since those files are ROM files you can overwrite them or even extract them... if we can get those two files off any other generic CDMA phone we will be able to send fine...
that was an easy solution if we can find those files... the other way i got to send Arabic text (unicode characters) is to flash my rom to Hutch's ROM which is for Thai region... and vola all worked fine now i can send in unicode and the other party would receive it fine.. if we could just extract those files from the hutch rom we can use our stock rom without the need to flash to other roms!! |
