SMS and Email not Opening
 

Ok I had this phone for about a month, everything was fine and i haven't installed a program in about 2 weeks. Today i go to open a text messaging and nothing happens, same thing with email, i also cant receive them.(the entire messaging program does not work) I soft reset it and also took the battery out and still same problem. Any ideas?

try clearing out the inbox folders on the memory card.

you also might need a memory cleaner program like memmaid. this has happened to me about 5 times already.

This happened to my wifes touch, but I never tried clearing out the inbox folders on the memory card. I just hard reset.

this happened to me this weekend, i thought it was because i had my phone in my pocket while snowboarding. but now that i think about it, i never bothered to clean up my sms inbox, so i flashed to one of the new roms with 6.1. lost my numbers in the process, but at least my sms works now.

Sorry, should have clarified, I meant the inbox attachment folders that are labeled as "inbox.<numbers>" . But yes, a hard reset will work too.

Thx alot guys:) i figured out the problem last night. The inbox attachment folder on the memory card went corrupt so i just deleted it and it worked fine.:headbang:

I'm having the same problem. The text messaging app does not open.
I've never put a micro sd card in my Touch. What should I delete? I cannot find any inbox* files other than \windows\inbox.htm which seems to be the messaging help file.
