invisibleSHIELD installed on my Touch - Photos
5 Attachment(s)
I know there were quite a few of us who were wondering how the invisibleSHIELD looked on the Touch. Well... here you go...
Impressions: 1) 11 pieces including screen ! I guess that made it a little easier to install. Took right at one hour. 2) It does not cover the sides as well as I thought it would. I some places, it barely rolls over the edges. Not sure how well this will adhere with use on those edge areas. 3) The film is quite thick...should provide good protection. 4) The screen is maybe slightly more "grippy" than the stock protector. Over time, I will see how the touch screen behaves. |

Thanks for the pics - needless to say when I got mine I was a little disappointed becuase:
1. The solution bottle was empty (i used some dishwashing soap and water as a replacement) 2. There was no cut-out for the speak at the back of my unit 3. there were no cut-outs for the "nipples" on the back cover Im waiting for my replacement from them now. |
thanks for the pictures gulfport, i am about to embark on installing mine!!!:headbang:

Are you happy overall with your purchase? How does this affect the screen response - does it drag and seem more inconvenient? Does anyone know if that half off link still works?
|
Overall, I am happy with the product. I think they may need to do a little redesign in terms of how it lays over the corners and edges. As far as the screen drag, right now it seems to have more drag than the stock protector, however, its only been about 18 hours since installation. Ive read that after it dries for a few days it gets smoother.. but I cant tell yet.

Perfect timing, i just ordered one kit yesterday and was hoping it has all the pieces to cover the whole phone and not just the screen protector.
OP, do you mind posting the item # that you order through invisibleShield? Just want to make sure that i ordered the same. Thanks. |
This is how the item looked on my receipt:
1 (HTCTOUUSA) invisibleSHIELD for $12.48 $12.48 HTC Touch CDMA (Full Body) * Weight: 0.18 lbs. each Quote:

I didn't get the full body version, but did get the screen protector. I kept it on for a couple of days, but I didn't like the grippiness of the material. It made it difficult to finger scroll when web surfing and to use the Touchpal keyboard. I took it off and went back to the stock protector.

Re: invisibleSHIELD installed on my Touch - Photos
I've had mine on the screen for about two weeks now, I really like it.
As some have said, it does add a bit of a ripple like effect to the screen, and it is a bit sticky, but I think it works perfectly. The stickiness doesn't affect me, and the ripple only shows if you're looking at it on a weird angle.. |
Re: invisibleSHIELD installed on my Touch - Photos
I'm curious as to why you would want the shield on the rubberized cover? Seems to me the rubber has a better feel and more grip.

Re: invisibleSHIELD installed on my Touch - Photos
defiantly not invisible, but it looks like it will protect the finish

Re: invisibleSHIELD installed on my Touch - Photos
from what i hear, invisibleshields are about as useful as those adhesive bookcovers you would use back in highschool. they definately protect the unit, but when it comes time to peel it off, theres a 90% chance you ruin your screen.
ps: please dont take this as a flame or a personal assault. i'm just relaying what i have researched on these products |
Re: invisibleSHIELD installed on my Touch - Photos
ive taken the screen protector out before without a hitch. the screen protector is definitely not usable anymore, as for the screen....its perfectly fine. i dont really see how it could mess that up.

Re: invisibleSHIELD installed on my Touch - Photos
I can assure you that removing the invisibleshield WILL NOT do any damage to your screen, nor will it leave residue or tear in the process.
I've been using these skins on my Treo's for a long time, and removing them was a breeze. They're super sticky and definitely a ***** to peel off, but there was 0 residue after the fact, nor was the screen or case sticky afterwards. I was impressed. |
Re: invisibleSHIELD installed on my Touch - Photos
I was kinda worried about removing it ... but now, after this post and reading similar responses on the web, it shouldnt be a problem.

Re: invisibleSHIELD installed on my Touch - Photos
I bought the full body version for my Sprint Touch, and it was very difficult to put on. I followed the instruction with the spray and how to hold it, but my hands are clumsy. The protectors are very thin and not easy to put on, at least for me. The screen also didn't seem clear after a few days. There were a lot of bubbles all over the unit. I have put on screen protectors for years, and this was the toughest I had ever put on. I gave up and sent it back for a refund. I ended up getting the boxwave crystal clear and had no problems getting it on. It is easy to clean. Most people don't even know I have one on. For protection for the unit I picked up a very nice leather case from WMExperts.com

Re: invisibleSHIELD installed on my Touch - Photos
Why are you calling this phone a MyTouch, when it doesn't even look like the recently (8/09) T-Mobile MyTouch ?
