deleting hotmail account/folders
 

I recently got the Windows Live thing going to handle my hotmail account. Now I want to ditch the original hotmail account/folders. Can't figure it out-doing all the obvious things doesn't work, it doesn't seem to allow for this. I tried searching and it seems like others have asked this, but not come up with an answer?

Go to Programs -> Windows Live -> Menu -> Account Options -> change windows live ID. This will delete all of you email settings for the old ID. Then just don't enter a new one. I just ditched my account again. Windows Live doesn't like roaming areas or places I don't have service. I am using Gmail IMAP now. (Plus my work exchange account).

i think thats opposite of what i want to do. i want windows live i don't want the hotmail account-am i missing something?

Well most Windows Live accounts are Hotmail accounts... so in order to use Windows Live you most likely need to sign in with a Hotmail account.

You can try unchecking the option to have mail downloaded when setting up the account for the first time.
