Htc Performance program

There are conflicting comments on this program. Some say it doesn't do anything for the touch or mogul chipset . But ever since I added this program it flies. Anyone else have any comments?

what's the HTC performance program and where do I find it?

Yes please post a link to the file or post you are referring to. Are you talking about overclocking? in either case post a link to the file so we know which version or program you are having success with and so we don't confuse the conversation with something else. thanks

hmmm. well i haven't installed it (yet), but i did open the cab to see what was in it. this is not just some reg edits. it is an actual program. it installs a file called Performance.exe in to the windows folder. hmmmm. i wounder what it does?

I had it on my 6700 and things did seem to be a bit snappier.. However, I have also read that the vogue is not scaleable so this program would be useless on it. Nobody could figure out if it actually did anything to the 6700.

The vogue is a dual core processor. This was designed for the single core 6700. I've heard lots of people trying it on kaisers which is the dual core gsm version. They didn't notice any difference. I just tried it right now. Ran a quick benchmark and don't notice anything either.

I'm just going to assume that this doesn't work for the vogue and wait to see if there are any actual positive testimonials. Don't have high hopes for this one as of yet

DO NOT USE THIS ON YOUR MOGUL!
QUOTE
As with all CPU overclocking applications, these things are CHIPSET SPECIFIC!
That is, they use a special command that the chip manufacturers slip into their design to allow clock speeds to be adjusted for their own purposes. This is not a standard command, and every manufacturer has their own way of doing it.

That is, an overclocker for an Omap CPU wouldn't work on an Xscale CPU or Samsung CPU. At the very least, the command will bounce off the chip and it will ignore it. However, sometimes it will lock up the system, or worse, actually do damage to the chip.

The mogul/vogue/Kaiser as well as future planned HTC devices use a new Qualcomm chipset. The apache uses the Intel Xscale chip. While they are compatible in their OS instruction set, they are not compatibel in anything else, ie. hardware acceleration, overclock commands, etc... are all different!
(look at the direct draw support on the new devices for an example! They haven't properly started supporting the direct draw on Qualcomm just yet).

At best, this application is a placebo effect for mogul users. At worst, you're actually slowly frying your chips without knowing. QUOTE

This is from one of the posts over on that thread.....Im going to pass on this but maybe someone will design an app like this for our Touch.....

InvincibleLiving 01-25-2008 03:27 PM

There were never any verifiable results on if this was effective or not. when i first loaded on my mogul i could have swore it mae it lightning fast... but in reality there was no effect on processor speed at all.

now i can't speak for whether or not this will possible damage your phone 6700 mogul touch or otherwise, all i can say is that it never worked for mogul users... we run the same risk of frying our phones everytime we d/l any app.
