Keep Texts and contacts Running

I am aware of the option on task manager to exit programs by tapping the x button or tapping and holding. I just noticed the obvious that if a program is running and you open it it opens SOOOO much quicker (example, if texts are running and the messages button is pressed it opens immediately, whereas if it wasn't running it takes about 2 sseconds.) Now I know I can always just set the option of tapping and holding the x to exit in order to go to the home screen while enabling me to open the programs later quicker; however, I always seem to forget to tap and hold and whenever I noticed my touch is really slow I open the quick menu and I see that almost all my programs are running and therefore taking up more memory. My questions is, is there a way to keep both text messages and contacts running when the x is tapped, but close all OTHER programs? Or in other words, is there a way to always keep text messages and contacts running?

~thanks

open the task manager and hold your stylus/finger over the program you want to select and choose add exclusive. This will mean that the selected program you choose will not even show up in the drop down menu, and will not completely close unless you go into the task manager to close it.

Thanks Scrotum, that was exactly what I wanted!
