New info on Sprint Touch update

Hey all, this is my first post.

First.. i'd proud to say i'm a new customer to Sprint on the sero plan, and I recived my Touch (with Sprint's new 'My Favorite 3' service for free! [like t-mobile 'my 5']) I had actually contacted Sprint to try and get Sprint Navigation service added to my plan and I got some good news in an email back!!
Dear [my name].

Thank you for contacting back.

[my name], I can not provide you any specific date but please be assured that you will get the updated software within the next two weeks.

Thanks
[his name]

Hmm...seems vague yet. Maybe the update will come out simultaneously for the Mogul and Touch at the end of January or early February.

I agree... when the touch was initially released the sales rep told me that the touch"for sure" had wi-fi...that lying son of a b...h.

Yea....but you got to remember all their info comes from a Sprint Rep Forums....I know this because i helped fix a few things on the Touch and the Rep posted it. Like how to fix the Live Search, no one could find out how in Sprint until I called in and told them what they can do. Lol, I know that all the PPC Geeks could have done that tho ;)

trust me we have a lot more valuable resources in the form of employees and insiders in this forum than calling and taking that reps word. people here have connections and someone would have heard something if its only 2 weeks away

Too true. We have an excellent group here, and the information and help is valid. After all, did Sprint bring out a WM6 update for the Apache? This site truly lives up to it's banner that it is the Pocket PC information station.

Boy... you guys are sure harsh towards the guy that started this thread.

First, he's new and stated such... yet some of you bashed him for not checking the "other threads".

Second... instead of just putting down what he was told... and he would have no reason to lie or make it up... the polite thing is to just post a "thank you" and lets all wait.

It's almost like some of you feel or claim that your connections are better than what he was told or what others post... and they may be.

Lets just all wait and see and the starter of this thread can email or call back his C/S person that emailed him and find out why the delay if the 2 week mark comes and goes.

First off, thanks Beachbumcook for having my back, and I have since re-emailed Sprint and asked for assurance and an explanation. To the rest of you, sorry If I created a duplicate thread with this.... however as far as not taking Sprint's word, the beautiful thing I have learned about Sprint is this; if they promise you and later deny it, if you document who said what and when, you can hold them to their word. That's how I got the plan I currently have.

-Sprint-to-mobile
-Sprint-to-home
-(and soon) Sprint Navigation

all for no more than my current 30 dollar plan.

I have found the E-Care team to be fairly straignt shooters.
They have delivered and backed up most of my questions related to service fees and phone updates when regular c/s telephone people could and would not do it.

Good plan. I have played "the game" with Sprint several times, and gotten free services, credits, etc. I'm about to play it for a Touch/Vogue.
