Dark spots on screen.

My touch has developed a "dark" spot on the display.

Does anyone know if Sprint will replace this when after the 30 day trial period?

They charged me $55 I had 3 dark spots on my first touch and two on my second. Sofar the third is going strong...

*Sigh*

I have told this story a number of times now. This is covered under your manufacturer's warranty (UTSTARCOM actually makes the Touch for Sprint...with the HTC brand, weirdly enough). Mine was 37 days old when I got the dark spot, and the Sprint store would do nothing for me, except direct me to UTSTARCOM. They replaced the screen and sent it back to me for no charge. The only thing I paid was $7.00 to send it to them.

Call 800-229-1235 and set up a free warranty repair.

(Sigh) Great if you can go without your phone for a while and it withstands the perils of shipping... $55 if you can't.

I'm so sick of HTC... here I thought my 6700 was bad... then I got a Mogul... and now a Touch.

I've got two of these spots on my screen but I'm choosing not to do anything about them at this time. Its not worth the hassle. I'd probably care if I watched video or something but I don't so it doesn't matter to me.

Interesting... Mine are apparently both completely gone now.

Something tells me that there's something inside of the screen that is loose and moves around causing these dark spots. There is no other way that they'd just disappear on their own.

Sprint sent me a brand new phone, and that's strange because my phone was exactly 37 days old also when I first got a dark spot... hmm.

Mine showed up when it was about 40 days old. Sprint replaced it. But told me it was a "pressure mark" and that i press it to hard. I knew there is no way I ever pressed it hard. So during the time i waited for the replacement i beat the HELL out of my touch. I typed emails and texts as hard as i could until my fingers hurt, and i wasn't able to recreate another mark.

I think when I mentioned defect and recall they replaced it without question. I believe this is strongly related to the "Mura" effect.
