Speed up large file transer rate?

I have my Sprint Touch loaded with a 4GB SDHC microsd card and it is taking like 40 minutes to transfer a 450mb movie file from my PC to the microsd in my phone via activesync. Is there any way to speed this up? Maybe if I took the card out and used a USB card reader? When I transfer the same movie files to my PSP it only takes like 5 minutes...any suggestions would be helpfull!

boom,
USB card reader is the only way to go. Activesync is a bottleneck.

TMB is right. I think it has to do with file translation between the PC, Activesync and the PDA.
