Can anyone write me a mort script or something for forcing 1xrtt?

Im under the impression that 1xrtt saves battery life?
Is this true?
If so, i wanna make a mort script to change the hidden setting as shown below...
Because, i have push mail, and aim connected ALL DAY... and i could just switch on evdo when i need it... That is IF its true 1x saves battery...

Any input?

Its my understanding that in order to maintain the higher data throughput the radio does use more power in EvDO mode.

it would make sense if you were in a "Fringe" coverage area to force it down to rxtt to improve battery life.

here is a link to a thread about modifying the NAM. You will be able to go in and manually adjust the network speed preferance. I believe its default setting is "Hybrid".

An importable tweak would be great for those who find they need it.

I already have that setting avalible, and i use it, lol

Thanks tho!
I personally wanted to write a script to change the option via a shortcut, i was thinking mort script... seems like a basic thing, but i know nothing about mort script, so maybe it isnt so easy...
im figuring you would link to a certain exe with a certain string, or something...

Check under the HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting key and you'll find the value for HiddenModeOperation toggle it from 0 to 1 or vice versa then soft reset the phone.

I have not verified this, but it may be of use to you.
