Sprint touch update waiting on WM update?

I am wondering if the update that the touch will be getting is related to the update WM will be receiving in the same quarter. What are the odds that this is the case, that HTC and sprint are waiting for the update to be available to update the OS along with the hardware. Maybe to optimistic, just wondering how long for an update like this to be released and then used on a carrier.

I'd say: not very likely

If it's not going to OEMs till Q1 2008, you won't see it on devices till at least Q2 if not Q3. Just like every version, they need to test it on devices, update things and then hand off for carrier approval, etc.

Unless they plan to implement it via the Win updates, which I doubt. Like the Wm6 update, no guarantees any current device will get it :???:

Almost guaranteed we'll never see it officially for this gen Touch.

Even desktop PC manufacturers don't support more than what was shipped unless there was a lot of buzz about the "next version" that would slow down sales then they will offer 2 versions during the transition period.
