Fixed my digitizer!

I bought a new digitizer off of ebay and replaced the one on my vogue (first time) because it was not working. The touch screen is working great now!

One thing that is bothering me though is that the middle of the screen is kind of lifted up like there is a bubble in the middle. I just have to push a little harder in the middle. I took it apart and tried to fix the little bubble, but I don't know what to do about it still. Any help please? Thank you!

hi,

how did you install the new digitizer? did you just glue it? and if yes what kind of glue did you use?

thanks

Most of the glue that was left over was still sticky, so I just stuck it on quickly and it stayed on very nicely. Next time though I will probably have to use some sort of glue to keep it on. Sorry I can't help with what kind of glue to use.
Hopefully someone will say what kind of glue to use.

You can use very thin double sided tape cut into strips or some sort of gel adhesive that is still pliable when dry. ;)

when i replaced my digitizer since i wanted to get rid of the Verizon logo

all i did want use a q-tip with normal rubbing alcoholic and then removed all the left over adhesive

and then using a small piece of card stock paper(or note card) use clear tacky glue and just place a very small amount on the LIGHT BLUE parts in the picture

GLUE - Aleene's Clear Gel Tacky Glue
(USE AT ROOM TEMP WHICH IS (65-75F)
(149-167C)

and it will dry in 24 hours and takes 7 days to cure

YOU MUST LET IT AT LEAST DRY FOR 24 HOURS FIRST BEFORE USE!!!!

and let it fully cure for 7 days, i say use your buttons for everything so the glue can cure

ONLY USE THIS GLUE, double sided tape makes the digitizer stand out, and super glues will make it impossible to remove the digitizer again without damaging the out casing

Useful info! I have a new housing and digitizer coming in now.

Re: Fixed my digitizer!

So, I took it apart again to do the re-gluing and I used some Loctite Clear Silicone Adhesive Sealant. It works great.

Now, does anyone know how to get the screen flat so I don't have to press harder on it than usual. It seems that there is air under it that makes it come out more.
Any advice would be great!

I haven't changed mine yet so I have no clue. Maybe someone will answer you shortly.

Re: Fixed my digitizer!

Well, when I looked at it again, I noticed that it wasn't between the digitizer and the lcd screen that was causing bubbles or air between them. I was touching the digitizer and there was air between the digitizer and the digitizer's plastic covering on the front. I was thinking about cutting it, but I don't know what to do. It is bothersome though with a huge air pocket in there.

Whoa! First, what would you be cutting? Most digitizers ship with a thin flexible plastic protective sheet stuck over the outer surface. Maybe you never removed it? Or, would you be cutting the actual lens? If the latter, then I would try to push the bubble toward the closest edge or corner and see if you can push the air out sideways. If not, maybe a pin hole would be better than cutting? Or, maybe you have a lemon and deserve a replacement digitizer from where ever purchased.
