new housing for the Touch

my Touch is barely holding together with it's current housing and I was looking to buy a new housing on ebay. I want to get another color and the white looks really good to me. Does anyone know how the white one holds up since it's a different material than the black/burgundy? Also any recommended sellers? I know the main diff between the CDMA and GSM is the camera placement in the back along with it being slightly bigger.

The white case was used on Verizon's xv6900, and it is infamous for cracking! Take a look at the 2nd 'sticky' in the Vogue subforum:

Cool. As you may know, I recently put a new facia on my Vogue, and I have to tell you it was not exactly a piece of cake to accomplish. Please do not take this as discouragement, but as advice: Have your head together when you do it, give yourself lots of time, desk space, good lighting, be maticulous about every step, and have a few good manuals available:

And when you're done, post some pics for us to see here.

I used the black Sprint housing for the majority of the time I had my Touch. I was able to get the Sprint branded digitizer off and put the VZW one on. It is held in place with double-sided tape. After taking the phone apart, I twisted the top of the front housing till I could get my fingernail in between the housing and the corner of the digitizer to pull it loose. It is a little bit thicker than a US .25 cent quarter. I ran my nail along the top and two sides very slowly while pushing the digitizer slightly from the back. There is a ribbon at the bottom of the digitizer. Work slowly so it does not rip loose.

Agree with MrGoodtunes... give yourself plenty of time and pay attention. It has been a little while since I've swapped but feel free to post any questions. I'd be happy to help.

EDIT: One more thought... be careful about what housing you buy. I don't think the GSM housings will fit. Something with the camera...

I ordered mines on Wednesday so it should be some time next week. And the diff between the GSM and CDMA is that the camera mirror is at 12 o'clock on the GSM and 11 o'clock in the GSM
