Bing mas update not installing on my HTC Vogue

I tried to install the new Bing maps update on my Vogue and I get a message that it doesn't support my resolution. Why Engadget says that is available for "every 6.x" phone on Sprint? :protest:

same deal for me. I tried installing via Marketplace, which it allowed, but then it freezes up about a minute into using it and force closes due to "incompatibility." Would like a fix for this if someone has it.

Wirelessly posted (HTC Diamond: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 7.11) Sprint MP6950SP)

Yep, this new version of bing and the last one don't work on QVGA. :angry7:
I found that out when I had my vogue. I think you are stuck with the BingWM6 version which isn't bad unless someone ports the new version to qvga. ;)

Found this on another forum...it appears to work. I found it easiest to edit on my computer using wordpad or something similar, save, then copy over the existing .config file. Good luck.

I’m not able to install latest Bing app at all on HTC Vogue (QVGA, WinMobile 6.1 stock Rom) — errors out due to “incompatibility.”

How can one edit the .config file if the app won't install?

Does it run the second time, after it displays the message?

I don't have data on my vogue to check it but I have heard that it works...

Not for sure about the WM6.1 issue though. But I'm pretty sure the .config file will not make a difference on the install (I will check the CAB out just incase). Might be time to get on the custom ROM band wagon! ;)

Here is the BING CAB with that fix.

Try it out and let me know if it works.

"Sorry, the resolution on this device is not supported..." blah blah... it would not install.

This one was setting up fine... but then hung at the end of the setup (progress bar basically at 100%). I let it sit for about 6-7 minutes and then soft reset the phone. After reboot, I launched Bing fine and it seems to be running.

So - this is not the version with iPhone style home screen or is it because we have low resolution device?
