I Care, But Not That Much

I used WiFi on my Mogul both at home and in my office, because I live in the boonies and only Verizon has EVDO.

That said, the Mogul was a brick of a phone, so the benefits of the Touch outweigh no Wi-Fi. I just use my laptop or desktop for heavy, video surfing and 1X on my Touch for everything else.

wifi

I was excited about wifi on the 6800, and messed around with it at first.

I would neglect the little button for months.

Seattle's evdo coverage is great. No need for wifi here.

Now im touched.

;)

I don't usually use it that much, but as some say... EvDO is good enough, so why use WiFi? To me, it's just there, and when I feel like toggling with it, i just go about it like every single feature on the Mogul, so no WiFi on the touch shouldn't make a lick of difference at all.

I agree - with EVDO, I've never used or missed wifi, and it seems like a hassle.

But: I'm wondering about Sprint's marketing strategy with this phone. EVDO works well, so remove wifi from the phone and make even more money on data plans...

im glad they left it out. one less thing to worry about, and it makes the phone that much smaller and less expensive

I don't use wifi a lot, but it can be useful. For example, I can surf on the Internet, check email, etc while on a call. Another use is to access files on a LAN which you can't do with EVDO unless you connecting through a VPN.

While I don't do VOIP on mobile phones, I suppose that wifi would be useful for that as well. It's a nice feature, but I wouldn't be heartbroken if I didn't have it.

I got SERO which = unlimited Data services for free! So the lack of Wi-fi does not bother me

it's so dang slow, it really sucks to use. My 6800 doesnt even connect to any network, even if theyre available. It actually takes a time or two of me engaging, then turning off, then reengaging the wireless button for it to even detect settings anymore.

i live by it..i have no data plan as im in wifi zones for 90% of my day and everything works great for me...EXCEPT that damn youtube program..cant get that to work with wifi..but other than that emails and using orb works great..
