Really? My battery seems to have a good life so far...

biggggant 11-10-2007 03:54 PM

i think its becasue at my house the signal is really low and that might be a factor but its still worse than my mogul

dpdurst 11-10-2007 04:03 PM

I just picked up a 3200mah battery, cover and case and so far my 6700 after a day of normal use is still at 100%!

Mine too. I just went 24hrs with about 2hrs worth of calls, a handful of texts and a bit of internet usage and had just dropped to 50% battery left when I plugged it in. I did the battery life registry hacks, so those might help a bit.

urvi 11-11-2007 12:58 AM

I did about 2 hours of gps with windows live(full backlight) a few texts and a few call and had 50% left.

Ph33zy 11-11-2007 02:53 PM

Do the touch and mogul use the same type of battery?

KoukiFC3S 11-11-2007 03:10 PM

Anyone wanna do some before and after tests?

This today plugin measures the time the PPC is turned on.

mAh stands for Milliamp Hour, a technical term for how much power a particular battery will hold.

So let's say that you phone uses 500 mA(Milliamp), not to say it does, but just as an example.

so 1500 mAh divided by 500 mA = 3 hours
and 2200 mAh divided by 500 mA = 4.4 hours

Bigger the number longer lasting power.

That 2200 mAh battery makes you replace the cover to fit it, so your phone is fater.

I do not think this 2200 mah battery works for Sprint Touch as it comes with a different door. This door only works with GSM TOuch.

Seidio plans to release a super extended battery just for Sprint Touch. It requires a new door. This door will work with Sprint Touch.

I ordered one on Fri. I'll give feed back on it.

Haggard 12-16-2007 02:21 AM

I used to work for a laptop manufacturer back in the late 90's and we kept talking about how new technologies were going to allow us to make the casing the actual battery of the device...As far as I'm aware, that still haven't come true for anything in the consumer segment.

It would be awesome if some day companies like Seidio could make a molded door that was "all" battery and give us 3000+ mAh. I'd think that instead of some monsterous door hanging off the back they could use the current batteries space and add only a milimeter or so of thickness to give us one heck of charge.

Beachbumcook 12-16-2007 12:31 PM

I purchased this battery and so far so good.

Ordering was quick... shipping was quick... and it fits perfectly in the stock OEM back cover. It is a little snug but once closed, all is well.

I have my phone set to active sync all the time for instant email notifications, so I use up more battery capacity than some.

As a heavy nationwide traveler, I bought the latest AC/DC power adapter for traveling. This way I still have one power adpater and I can keep my phone topped off while in the rental car... but the extra capacity is just extra capacity I like kowing I have.

The first day or two I noticed that the battery meter did not fall as quickly, so this battery (1500 mAh) really does have more capacity.

Enjoy... I am...

mtnmedic 12-17-2007 02:41 AM

Well, I've had mine for quite a while and I still consistently get 24-28 hours' worth of use out of it, depending on what I do with it. Of course, this is with the battery hacks mentioned earlier (but then, who WOULDN'T want battery power management enabled?).

It's a good battery. Get yourself one. You won't be disappointed. The stock battery door is a little tough to put back on but it DOES go on. Now the phone has a nice solid feel to it.

Beachbumcook 12-21-2007 01:25 AM

Well....

Guess I will be calling them tomorrow and asking for a an RMA number and get a refund. Good thing it is on my American Express Card... as they don't mess around with deceptive marketing practices... and neither do I.

Dam... I was duped!!!!!

KoukiFC3S 12-21-2007 03:54 AM

Why not actually test how long the battery last?

This today plugin lets you know how long your PPC has been on.

If what you said is true, then read the feedback of post # 26 in this thread. Mtnmedic will not see any imporvement over the stock battery at all in using Seidio's battery. But thta is not the case. Below is Post # 26 by mtnmedic

Thank you Seidio-Seidio,

As the "company in question", do you stand by your products and sales you have made? Will you issue a refund if within the warrenty period, even though some are starting to wonder if your representation of this battery isn't just slick marketing... which is illegal due to the "testing" that appears to have been done?

Besides just stating that it is a "good battery", what evidance from 3rd party testing you do you have to offer to be fair?

Via the Seidio website, I filled out the RMA section and requested an RMA return/refund since I just bought by battery 2 weeks ago.

Getting into a "pissing match" here on the boards will not serve either of us... what I want to read in "black and white" is will you offer a refund if a customer so desires?

Thanks,

Beachbumcook 12-21-2007 07:40 PM

Boy, Seidio sure got quiet here on the boards.

He/they post at 7.45am this AM, then never post again... even when asked for a direct reply?

Sent in my RMA request Thursday evening, and never got an email or telephone reply all day Friday???

No matter what the reason, if their going to use these forum boards as a way to generate business and answer questions, then they better be willing to act and represent themselves accordingly and take the good with the bad and live up to their marketing as stated on their website.

Nothing worse then not standing behind one's product... the court of public opinion can be just as damaging as the court of defrauding one's customers and getting sued... even if for $50.00... it's the point of it all.

KoukiFC3S 12-22-2007 11:21 AM

Ahh read the thread and wow thanks Ill stick to my original battery now.

Beachbumcook 12-22-2007 01:11 PM

On Monday, if I do not hear anything from Seidio (Christmas Eve or not), I will be calling my credit card company to dispute the charges and ask for a refund.

I just hope Seidio does the right and legal thing and honor their warrenty and refund my full purchase price as advertised.

fuuup 12-22-2007 08:21 PM

I'm testing mine right now. What a load of bs.

tangelo699 12-23-2007 02:27 PM

I've had the Seidio extended battery since Wednesday, Dec.19th. I've recharged it nightly. I use my phone constantly throughout the day checking emails, surfing the web, listening to XM radio, watching TV or videos with ORB across the net and playing games. The stock battery would be at 20-30% by 7:30pm. The extended 1500 mAh battery is still between 60-70% same time. Say what you want about numbers...all I know is the battery is ACTUALLY lasting longer than the stock. For me, this is a good thing! BTW-I had the 3200 mAh battery for my 6700 from Seidio and it also worked great. However, the isolated earphones suck, the rubberized case for the 6700 with extended battery could not be used with the Sidieo car holder (extended battery version) and the swivel holsters broke (2 different versions for 6700) after about 1 month of use. (Just thought I would balance my claims)

pg2k3 12-23-2007 03:31 PM

Does anybody think that there may be a chance that the chips that regulate the charge/discharge of the battery are not allowing a full charge? I just got mine and I may return it as well. I don't make that much money so it hurts my pockets even more to know that may not have much to show or justify the $50 like I originally thought! This is some Bull***t! I will be running the Power Meter myself while streaming ShoutCast, Bluetooth On, and Backlight fully lit and constantly on to see what I get. Ive already done the 6 full discharges.

Man! Why do good companies always go bad? I just sent them an RMA form. They should know that word of mouth potentially has the power to make or break a company.

Great post and thanks for checking into this issue.

Some might say that the program you are using is flawed, but if your using the same program for both batteries, it is at least a consistent (apples to apples) test of their true performance.

You might keep this "screen shot" handy, becuase some may want to use it in a lawsuit (class action maybe) if Seidio doesn't to the right and honest thing and accept returns in a timely manner. I am sure that the FTC would be interested... becuase I am.

All they need to do is give me my money back and I'm done... and I will post that they stepped up to the plate and did the right thing. Any company can can have production issues or "bad cells" in their batteries... they just have to aknowledge it and move forward.

codyppc 12-23-2007 09:29 PM

i got a 1350 mah battery off email for a total after shiping for like $11. i do see a difference between the two. i swap batteries daily and never know which one i have in there. every once in a while i wounder why i have so much battery life left and find out i am using the 1350 one. sure glad i got the cheapy. i had two seidio extended batteries with my treo and couldn't tell that much difference. i think seidio has been doing this for a long time. maybe not with all there batteries but i am think many of them.

good luck on getting your money back everyone.

emoose 12-23-2007 09:40 PM

I haven't done the mah drain on my new sedieo 1500 battery and don't really plan to. I have been using the 1500 for a few days now and When I ran with the stock on a normal day I was 30% by the end of the day. It is EOD for me now and I am at 60%. I have even been using a lot today because of Christmas shopping.

I am going to go with my unscientific test and say that I get more use in a day with the seidio 1500 battery.

msrandall 12-24-2007 08:49 PM

Wow I was just thinking about 2 weeks ago this battery didnt last like it should...now this thread -I am emailing seidio myself for a refund. I hope they wont give me problems and they have lost a customer here.
