Help with internet sharing

Help! while in internet sharing my left soft key is invisible and im unable to connect because of that. Is there a registry I can look into or change that will make my left soft key (connect button) while in internet sharing be active?

Is it there before you connect?
Do you have ActiveSync or WMDC installed on your PC?
Did this just start to happen or has it always been this way?

I have no problem connecting to ActiveSync.....only when trying to tether. This was never an issue before until 2 days ago when I flashed. Ive been flashing for years and never had problems. When this first happened I flashed to stock rom then back to customized rom and problem was fixed. Now I can't get it to work. The connect button in internet sharing is not available for me which is the reason for not being able to connect. Its very strange.... I noticed when going back to stock rom the connect button is available. when going back to 6.5.3 the connect button becomes unavailable.

Hmm...Might be a bug with that rom.
Has it worked before with that rom?
Have you tried looking at the registry especially where the usual edits are done for internet sharing?
Make sure everything is as it should be.
If you are dead set on that rom then you might flash the stock rom just to backup the registry so when you flash the custom rom you can use the stock registry to compare and possibly edit the custom rom registry.
