PPCGeeks - HTC Vogue "Windows Update" function Problem

I have a sprint HTC Vogue, Windows 6.1...The issue i am having is that i am not able to check for updates on the phone on the windows update function (Start ~~> Settings ~~> System ~~> Windows Update)...It keeps coming up as Unsuccessful...the reason for being successful shows up as:
"Connection to the update server is not available. Check your data connection settings and ensure the device date and time are correct."

I have gone to the sprint store to ask for help, but as usual they apparently don't know how to fix it...

Any leads/help/solutions to this issue?

I apologize in advance if this has already been answered before, but i looked through other threads and was not able to find anything...
