Gadgetfreak...or any gurus out there..
You think this could be achieved... ???
Having the buttons at the bottom but keep the clock up high.. I noticed Advanced settings/configurations will allow you to move htc home to the bottom of the list, but the clock follows the buttons and I like the clock up high...
If anybody knows how it can be done.. Please let me know...
Thanks

Note: This is a paint modified picture...

As far as I know, the only way to achieve that look is to use one of the shells or GUI replacements like SPB or WAD2. I haven't seen any way for the buttons to be separated off of the the rest of the HTC Home plug in.

I never used either one... Which one is easier to use/customize... SPB or Wad2...

they are completely different playing fields...

SPB has the ability to "skin" the interface

WAD2 actually allows you to create the interface with a variety of different animations, icons, menus, etc... u name it/imagine it, you can probably skin it up with wad2... as long as it supports your ideas.

thats just the short version

I am wondering if anyone can help me with a small problem setting up my theme. I am tring to make my bar at the top and bottom a true vista metalic black color. I have tried and tried again and no mater what I do it changes to a metalic grey. I switch the them and apply it flashes on the home screen with the black I want and then immediatly turns grey. I had the same issue a while back but it seemed to stay black after messing around with it switching the themes on and off. I flashed my rom last week and now cannot get the black to stay. please help I have tried everything.

Here are the files to duplicate my theme.

NOTICE: All credit for the creation for these files/themes/skins/programs/icons goes to their creators. Where possible I've tried to credit the creator. All I have done is put them together into a scheme that I like and that works for my needs.

And I know I'm preaching to the choir with this, but please BACK UP your device before starting!!!!!!!

Programs you will need (Included in zip files):

HTC Home
HHC 1.0
WeatherPanel 2009
UI Tweaker
Cube Configurator 4.1
Advanced Configuration (To tweak the Comm Manager, if you want to) Not Included

To Install (And please keep in mind that I am reconstructing this from memory since I never wrote this down:

From CAB Zip 1: Install the SDK Certs, Carlos Dialer, Calibri Font, Ui Tweaker, Diamond Random Access, Fabliv AS v4, Green Batteryfix, HTChome-2.1, and Poorlyducks HTC Audio Manager cabs, HHC 1.0 (This can go on your memory card if you want),
in that order. Soft Reset after each installation, as needed.

From Cab Zip 2: Install the OCT Cruise Cab. Soft Reset. Now Install Gullum Keyboard Repack. Soft Reset. Install the English keys. Next install the Gullum Keys (don't worry if it tells you it is going to uninstall the version you just loaded, it needs to do this to get the keys properly loaded. This aspect of what I did is very, er, touchy...) Soft Reset.

From Cab Zip 3: Install Weatherpanel, then install the icons. I highly reccomend you put this in main memory

From the Elements zip:
  • I've included .net 3.5, since I can't remember if any of these programs require it... ](*,)
  • Load the Poorlyduck Diamond WM skin intot he WMP file on your device. Start WMP and go to options, and choose your skin
  • Paste the Daimond Random Access skin into your Windows folder
  • HHC Files: Load the black Glass folder into the file labeled Icons, the Sphere Clock by Empex in the clock file, and Carbon Background into the BG file. You can now start HHC up and select those three options on the first screen.
  • I used Gimp to resize the Diamond Icons for the Launcher to 32x32. These Icons are a highly personal choice based on what programs you wan the launcher to have on it. I suggest you load the icons you want on to you card in a folder labled 'Launcher Icons' and then use HHC's Launcher tab to select what programs you want tand then change the icons.
  • Put the Empex Diamond TSK into you my documents Themes Folder. Go to setting/Today and then selct it as an option.
  • Open UI Tweaker, Launch the TdyScheme Changer, the select the 'Tools' option, then Import Color Scheme. Navigate to where ever you put the 'Empex Diamond.Scheme file on your device. This should get you the colors. If that doesn't work use SysColor Changer and WM5Color Changer to adjust everything. The Color mix is R=78, G=205 and B=0
  • Unzip Phatfinger Theme in to the Marsware/WeatherPanel Theme Folder
  • Finally, you can unzip the tinyphatphinger theme and load it into Marsware/weatherpanel/themes/Phatphinger III theme
  • Start WP and configure it for your location I use the Phatphinger 108px theme to get it to fit. This will not wor if you use any kind of tray icons...
  • Lastly, If you want to change your start Icon, Put the shellres file into your Windows file and soft reset.
I'm sure I've forgotten something, so please PM me or ask here if you run into any problems. Just remember that your are messing around with some system files, so back your stuff up!

Thanks!

Update: Here's the link to the Cube Skin...

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=930

And I've added the file by No2chem to get the single digit count on for your battery charge level that will work with your new battery icon.
