More bugs for HTC to fix...

Since we're listing bugs, here's one:
If you dial a contact from the phone screen that has an extension, the phone will dial all of the numbers and the call will fail. If you dial straight from contacts, it dials fine.

With the autocomplete settings, if you uncheck all of the xt9 options in the input settings and type a word that is not in its autocomplete library, the word will dissappear as you type it. Also, this applies to all keyboards, not just the HTC ones. Another reason to disable the whole autopredict option.

Pibe38...I am using one e-mail account that is checked every 5 minutes, the only app that I have added is the HTC home customizer. Another problem I have is the backlight never turns off even though I have it set to turn off after 1 minute on battery power. I also make sure every thing is closed on a regular basis.

Is their a reason you need to have the Touch check your email every five minutes? I would almost guarantee that is what's causing your horrendous battery life. I have had to change some of my settings on my Touch that worked with the Mogul. I have WeatherPanel and Pocket SportsCenter check every 2 hours now, not on the hour. And I have had to set my email to manualy download, not download every hour. This way I have a little battery left when I get home. :(

Wow... definately change how often your e-mail is checked. Every 5 minutes WILL drain your battery very quickly. What type of e-mail is it? POP3?

As far as the backlight... don't know what to day, mine seems to work ok and turns off after the time I set.

Not too change the subject but does anybody get a error that says "setup is not a valid pocket pc application" when trying to install sktools? I downloaded it for a free trial version. Says it support wm6. Any clues?

EXEs must be run on the PC and installed through ActiveSync/WMDC. Cabs are installed through the phone.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will change my e-mail settings and see what happens. I am a Safety Director and need to get my e-mails as quick as possible but I will try something different in the settings. If anybody has any suggestions for the backlight please let me know. Thanks.

I am using a ThinkOutside bluetooth keyboard that doesn't work right unless the keyboard menu is activated by tapping the keyboard button at the bottom/middle of the screen. If this menu is not listed, the spacing gets messed up (for exampe its tarts lookingl ike this). I would rather just have it disabled since I am using the FITALY onscreen keyboard and can get 40WPM without the predictive text slowing things down.

Use Mobie Registry Editor to modfiy the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Tegic\eT9\ and change the key "XT9SupportMSSip" from value "1" to "0". This will disable the XT9 for all keyboards except the Touch ones.
