Oil stain look on digitizer
 

I know a lot of you have seen this oil stain look that gets on the digitizer of our Vogue's, I was wondering if there is any way to clean this off, any help would be great.

this is a known issue on most htc devices!! this is my second tp2 and both have had it!! it just appread out of the blue!!

I got it too, and its a perfect box in the middle of the screen... not spread to the whole thing but maybe a cm from the edges to the middle

No fix for it . unless you replace it . It's because the two pieces of plastic that make up the digitizer or separating .

Is this something that Sprint would replace under warranty in the first year of a device? I am having other issues with my phone too, but if this one will get me a replacement too I may just go with this issue first.

If they won't replace for this, you can find one for around $10 on ebay and from what I understand(thanks tmz) it's not too tough to disassemble and install.

Yes, this would be covered under warranty during your first year. I have had mine replaced for the same thing (and ended up getting the "good screen" on the replacement instead of the "bad" one it came with)

wait for horndog to come on. he will prolly see this thread and would be able to help. he is a vogue user and he has to do this to his phone.

I'm taking mine in for that same issue. It started at the middle and now worked its way covering the whole screen. Really annoying at times.

the oil stain occurs from over heating which causes a warp in the screen
my vougue has the stain too

Late, did they replace your device or offer you something comparable? I need to take mine in as I am having power issues as well. But I want to know if I will get a vogue or if they will try and pawn off something else to me.

I have gone thru 2 vogues ..... I am on my 3rd. Once you get that oil stain (its under the glass) it is pretty much downhill from there. My digitizer started misaligning to the point I couldn't hit the X to close apps... I pay the 7.00 a month and sprint has replaced both phones no question asked.... although I did get a stern lecture from the Tech manager about all the 3rd party programs I had installed...... I wonder if ATT&T says this to their iPHONE customers?

I went to the sprint store. They tried to tell me I was out of warranty. I corrected them and then they realized I was right. Then they said they were going to replace the screen. I told them that wouldnt fix my dropped call issue. They are going to order me a replacement. Will be at the store on Wednesday, They didnt tell me what I was getting. but I hope I get another vogue.

Sorry for the late respond kuluminati. I haven't taken my phone in yet, been busy with other things and phone just hasnt been a priority. When you get yours back, let us know of the outcome.

I had this same problem with 3 vogues on verizon, they replaced them both, after the third I griped enought that I was able to upgrade to an eris with a good discount AND keep my vogue. Good luck with what you have.

Eris is android right? I dont know if I would be all gung-ho about it. I have ran it on my vogue, wasnt all that impressed. But we'll see. I just want a phone that works.

I received bad news today, they are going to be giving me a Diamond. This is a sad day for me as I love my Touch a lot. This is the best phone I have ever owned and now I have to travel a path unknown. I have had other changes this week too and I dont like any of them.

Just send the diamond back and get a digitizer for $8.00 off of ebay.

I would if the screen was the only issue I am having with the device. There are a lot of power issues I am having too. Not to mention the dropping of calls to the point where I have to pull the battery and reseat in order to take and make calls again.

the 1 year manufacturer warranty will replace it in store. After your year, insurance only!

No, dark spots is the LCD Screen.

Got our VOGUE replaced with a VOGUE too..... It was a Sprint authorized store, not a CORPORATE SPRINT STORE..... the CORP store gave me a card and said I could mail it.... And they wonder why they are losing customers?

looks like they have plenty of replacements. the one they sent me data did not work. But they are sending me another right away...
